The KSSSOFPI Trust (No: IT 561/2007)

Negotiations with the National Department of Agriculture and the National AgriBEE Fund through 2006 have led to the formation of a Trust which represents the interests of the emerging entrepreneurial small-scale Ostrich farmers. Not only does the Trust administer the affairs of the farmers collectively, but it has also entered into a Joint Venture with existing commercial players in the Eastern Cape Ostrich Industry to form IMPEC (Integrated Meat Processors of the Eastern Cape).

The KSSSOFPI Trust was awarded a grant from the National AgriBEE Fund of R9.3 Million, which represents 49% of the equity in the R19M IMPEC joint venture.

IMPEC forms a secure, in-house market for emerging small-scale farmers who are part of the Trust.
