Our Philosophy

We believe that God created the earth, universe and mankind as described in the book of Genesis in the Bible. God created man to live in a close relationship with Him. However due to sin entering this world through mankind’s disobedience to our Creator, this relationship has been severed. We can no longer naturally enjoy communion with God. Sin entered the world, and through sin came death. So it is appointed man once to die, and then to face judgment before a Holy God.

Mankind has broken the commands of God, and no effort of self can satisfy the righteous demands of God. We cannot earn His favour by good works. We are guilty and fall short of His Glory.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to bring good news. His death bought salvation, life, hope and freedom from bondage to sin and eternal death by paying the penalty for our sin. He died as a substitute for mankind, but was raised from death to sit at God’s right hand in advocacy of those who accept Him as Lord and Saviour of their lives. Consequentially believers can know God in relationship now, live with a demonstration of God’s love and power in the present. We believe that we are called to follow Him, to show God’s love in real and practical ways. Our purpose is to share this good news with all who do not know the love of God as demonstrated in Jesus Christ.

In Luke 4:18 Jesus announced his public ministry with these words: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

Our highest joy and purpose in living is to bring honour and glory to God, and as the people we work among come to know and love the Saviour, they will be free to know and enjoy God. We are motivated by compassion for those who do not know God. This is our point of departure. It does not profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul.

We believe that no true empowerment can occur unless the needs of the whole person are addressed.
